A wide variety of plastic injection molded parts are used as operating elements in automotive interiors. Perfect operating elements create a valuable impression of the entire car. This is why a sensitive quality inspection is so important in order to produce operating elements without errors.
The operating elements are manufactured using a wide variety of processes such as pad printing, laser technology or in-mould design. Our systems are used in all these production processes. In general, the print image quality and print position of these systems are checked. An additional surface inspection can be carried out on request.
Complete documentation is standard in the automotive sector. Our systems generate a log entry with each test. On request, our systems can be supplemented with a customized documentation interface. This makes it possible to enter the test results and camera images into any PDA system.

In this example it is easy to see that even the smallest errors can be detected with our camera systems. In the first image, the error location is highlighted in red. The comparison image shows the error image and the reference image.
The human eye must look closely in order to recognize the defect. The camera system reliably detects the error.
EXAMPLE IN-MOULD DESIGN FOIL
In this example, the film is tested for an in-mould design process prior to the actual injection process. This avoids subsequent injection errors caused by a defective film.
The position of the symbols and errors in the symbols are checked on the foil. The results of each test are logged in a file. By an adapted software interface the file format could be adapted individually to the customer’s requests.
